Obituary

Homegoing Celebration for Elder Earlene Bell Sermons, who God Called home on Saturday, August 11, 2012, will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Progressive M.B. Church, 2607 E. 24th Avenue, Rev. Albert Gallmon, Jr., Officiating, with Pastor Alfonzo Broughton of Genesis Worship Center of Tampa Bay, Inc, Eulogist Elder Earlene Bell Sermons was born in Cordele, Georgia on July 17, 1950, to the late L. J. Crumbley and Pecolia Felton. Elder Sermons accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a founding board member of Genesis Worship Center of Tampa Bay, Inc. where she has served as Executive Advisor, Chief Intercessor, and Ministry Counselor and recently promoted to Assistant Pastor. She was preceded in death by husband, Lynnie (Doug) W. Sermons; her father, L. J. Crumbley; mother, Pecolia Felton; brother, John L. Jackson; sister, Lavern Jackson. She leaves a loving family to cherish her fond memories: Narita Green (Dea. Wade), Pastor Alfonzo Broughton (Min. Joai), Bernadette Broughton (Siglenda), Shawanda Brown (Rev. Alvin), and Selina Spigner; grandchildren: Tiffany, Karl Jr, Fanchon, Samuel Jr. (Kiara), Jacorey, DeWayne, Calia, Kayla, Zenobia (Antonio), LaToya, Marcel, Charles III, Dontavius, Quontavius, Keiaundra, Keith Jr., and Wanya; nephews and nieces: Elmer Jackson and friend Julia, Michelle Jones (Brian), Kelvin Roberts (Rieko), Lisa Jackson, LaKeisha Rodriguez (Adrian), Francina McAfee (Ceaph), DeWann Hopkins (Laveina), Honore Hopkins and friend, Virgilena, Frank Jones, Lisa James, Ralph James, Ronnette Brooks (Wil), Robert Singleton, Marlisa Singleton; 1 brother: Dea. Lawrence Jackson (Sharon); 1 sister: Allene Roberts of Tampa, FL; 2 aunts: Fannie Miller of Winter Haven, FL and Florence Green of Melbourne, FL; 3 brothers-in-law: Theodore Sermons (Mary), El Paso, TX, Joe Sermons of Baltimore, MD, Joe Negron, Avon Park, FL; godmother: Eva Baker; goddaughter: Carla Leonard; godsister: Joyce Dawkins (Elder Billy); Special friends: Mother Catherine Chester, Intercessor Phyllis Wright, Minister Sylvia Leonard (Reverend W.F. Leonard), Hazel Johnson, Pearlee Fields, Minister Doris Smith, Rebecca Simmons, Eva Simon; And a host of cousins, family and friends. The viewing will be held at Peace Progressive M.B. Church, 2607 E. 24th Avenue, from 5-8 PM. The family will receive friends from 6-7 PM. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the service.
