Homegoing service for Mr. Earnest Christopher of Tampa who passed away on Monday, March 31, 2014, will be held on Saturday, April 19th, 2:00 p.m., at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, Rev.Thomas Hester, officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Earnest Christopher Thomas was born to the late Joseph Thomas and Louvina Thomas, on November 19th 1958 in Gasparillo, Trinidad. Earnest Thomas also known as 'Kid' and 'The best fudge maker' spent his childhood years in Trinidad. He was the youngest of 8 siblings. Earnest later relocated to New York City to further his life and career. He attended trade school where he received his skills in welding and plumbing. During his years, he met a lovely young lady, Wendy Morales. They united had four beautiful children. He spent his later years in Tampa, Florida. When you say the name Earnest Thomas, an instant smile or grin will show on your face. Earnest was known as a free spirit. He had a worry free attitude. A person known to have fun and great times. To know him is to love him. No one was a stranger to him. People were attracted to his charm, love, and humor. The only time he would show disappointment was when his siblings told him no. Earnest Thomas was a loving father, brother, uncle, cousin and great friend. He leaves to cherish his memories: four children; Lashantae Thomas, Jessica Thomas, Christopher Thomas and Mark Thomas all of Tampa, Florida; five grandchildren; Ignatius Pryor, Krishareia Thomas, Nashun Pryor, Christopher Thomas III, and Markila Thomas; seven siblings, Monica Smith of New York, Mable McKnight of Texas, Lucy Bonald of New York, Ruth Antoine of Trinidad, Phillip Thomas of Florida, Jean Gittens and Glenda Jackman both of New York; a host aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and in-laws. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, April 18th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive guest from 6:30 to 6:30 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
