Obituary

Homegoing services for Mrs. Earnestine Delores Garrett Harris of Tampa, who passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013, will be held on Saturday, February 9th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, with Elder Robert Douglas, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Earnestine Delores Garrett Harris was born in Tampa, Florida May 1, 1947. She was the fourth child of Ms Dora Govan Garrett and was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Garrett, Sr. Earnestine was a lifelong resident of Tampa and attended Hillsborough County Public Schools. She gave her life to Christ at an early age at her grandmother's church at St. James P.B. Church under the pastorage of Rev. Richard Taylor. She also attended the Mt. Calvary Seventh Day Adventist Church. She met Willie James Harris and they were soon married. Earnestine enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing dominoes, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother & father, grandmother, Elizabeth Smith Govan, sister, Catherine, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, Thomas Elmer & Amy Govan, Willie Paul Stokes, Jr., Curtis & Ernest Garrett, Cedric Durham and Jada Barner. She leaves to cherish her memories with her son, Derrick A. Anderson; daughter, Zelda Harris; grandchildren, Benjamin D. Anderson, Lizan Sari, Zelisia and Susie D & DeQuane; siblings, Victoria Brown, Joseph Garrett, Jr., Patricia Ramroop McDaniels (Melvin) and Barbara Cobb (John); mother-in-law, Gwendola Small; sisters-in-law, Lillie Harris Bell (Allen) and nieces, Pat Clark and Nina Small; aunt, Carrie Govan; uncles, James, Wiliiam, Cecil, Sr., and Charles Garrett; cousins, nieces, and nephews, James and Joseph, Marcus, Mary, Sharon and Darius, Sherri, Crystal (Limbert), Charlie, Jr., Andre and Victoria, Michelle "Mickey", Diamond, Nefertiti (Bobby), Debra, Sondra, Kathy (Randall) Nate, Jr. & Marcus "Tony" (Denetria), Kent, Katronda, Alvin, Anita, (Paul), Renesha (Brandon), Larry, Arience (Megan), Cornelius (Marquetta), Andre Jr., LaToya, Danielle, Tammy, Tamisha, Calvin, Jr., Timothy, Stacey, Myron, Amy and WP Stokes III, Bobby Jr., Devin, Camille and Jamille, Travis, Michael Tim, Randall Jr., Maurice, Ryan, Nyona, Tariah and Steven , and Cecil Garrett, Jr.; and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, February 8th from 5-8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
