Ecclesiastes Chapter 8 tells us there is a time for everything.
A Time to Be Born: Eddie James George was born to Jim George, Sr., and Carrie Nell Rolle on February 27, 1957.
A Time to Learn: He was educated in the Hillsborough County Public School System and graduated from Chamberlain High School in 1975. He furthered his education by pursuing and obtaining a degree in Computer Science from ITT Technical Institute with honors.
A Time to Sow: He dedicated his career to serving and protecting his country and community. He served his country in the US Army (Germany) as well as law enforcement (Tampa Police Department, Florida Highway Patrol, and the Hillsborough County Sherriff Office), where he retired in 2001 after years of hard work and dedication.
A Time to Serve: Eddie accepted the Lord as his saviour. He was ordained as a deacon under the pastorship of Reverend J.L. Overstreet at Victory Tabernacle MB Church in Tampa, Florida. Eddie served as lead deacon at Powerhouse Ministries International where his son, Terrence A. Fleming, is founder and pastor. Eddie was dedicated in his service to the Lord. In addition to being a deacon, he served in various capacities in the church and the community, including ministering in Christian theatrical productions.
Eddie was a loving, passionate man of God who was always willing to help others. His tireless efforts made a lasting impact on the lives of those around him. Some of his favorite hobbies included fishing, building and refurbishing computers, watching sports, with his favorite being football and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Eddie, also affectionately known as "Papaw", was the greatest grandpa that one could ever ask for. He never missed an opportunity to attend games, events, or milestones in the lives of his grandchildren; Joshua (Big Man), Jewel (Suga Puddin), Jediah (Main Man), Justus (Boss Man), Jenesis (Pretty Red), Judaea (Chickadee), and Judah (BamBam).
A Time to Transcend: 2 Corinthians 5:8, We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Eddie departed this life August 23, 2024.
He leaves wonderful memories with his loving wife, Naomi George; sons, Terrence Fleming (Jawanna), Decari Fleming-George, and Keith George; grandchildren, Joshua Al'sean Fleming, Jewel Elizabeth Fleming, Jediah Al'sean Fleming, Justus Al'sean Fleming, Jenesis Evelyn Elizabeth Fleming, Judaea Leigh Elizabeth Fleming, Judah Al'sean Fleming, Aryanna Johnson and Elijah Johnson; sisters, Oletha Rolle, Diana Davis, Rachel McCarter, Lillie Scippio, Joyce Tucker-Steele (Newton), Janie Pearson (Harold), Rosa Fleming, Janice George, Patricia Kindell (Charles), Louise Gentile (Willie), and Carolyn Dubose; brothers, Arnold Rolle (Lethar), Lewis Fleming, Joe Jones, Michael Jones (Linda), and Samuel Jones; special nieces and nephews, Cariana James (Jerrell), Domica Jones, Lewis Jones, Angelise Brown (Rashea), Anissa Davis, Valerie Patrick (Vernon), Teresa Bowman, Karon Graves, Lanetta Williams, Tracy Holder (Rodney), Teralyn Fleming, Jeanna Lamb (Michael), Lucy Robinson, Idella Fleming, Lunette Fleming, Lillie Daies (Roger), Connie Scippio, Anthony Scippio, Alan Tucker (Jessica), Kevin Tucker, Greg Pearson (Olivia), Edward (Bummie) Fleming, and Glenn Fleming (Mary); godson, Ronald Walker (Audrey); special cousin & Barber, Maurice Rolle; special neighbors & friends, Jason Caballero (Andrea); and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
