Homegoing services for Mr. Eddie Long of Tampa, Florida who passed away on, Saturday, July 22, 2017, will be held on Friday, July 28th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, with a local minister, officiating. The interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Eddie was born December 13, 1930 in Cottondale, Florida to the late Joe Long and Viola Hinson Long. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Lee Long; sisters, Martha Peeples, Ida Lee Hester, Elma Long and Mary Clemons; brothers, J.D. Long and Joe Long, Jr. Eddie was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Mt. Tabor M.B. Church and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memories with his step-son, Ralph Goff; sister, Viola D. White; nieces, Ethel Catlin, Sharon Anderson (Lester), Brenda Cogdell (Matthew), Olivia Harrison, Karen Long, Diane Long and Rosolin Clemons; nephews, Charles Long (Felicia) and Bernardo Richardson; and caregiver, Marcia Lawrence; and a host of other family members and friends. The viewing will be held on Friday, July 28th one hour prior to the service at Aikens Funeral Home. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel for the service on Friday.
