Eddie was born on January 22, 1940, he was the 2nd of 9 children born to Alfred Sr. and Harriet McGee of Chicago, IL. He graduated from Wendell Phillips High School, where he was a member of the Glee Club & ROTC. Eddie served and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. In 1967, he married the love of his life, Laura Covington.

Eddie was a member of Grant Memorial AME Church. He worked for RR Donnelly and Union League Club. Eddie demonstrated great love, admiration, and generous support for his family. He also supported his wife in the care of her mother. Eddie was funny, charming, and adored for his sense of humor & gentle manner.

He loved traveling, listening to music, reading, and imitating John Mathis. He was very popular and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Sr., and Harriett McGee; sisters, Elaine, Harriet, Joan, and Mary McGee; and brother-in-law, George Eddings.

He leaves precious memories with his wife, Laura McGee; brothers, Alfred, Jr., and Rufus McGee; sisters, Alfreda Eddings and Marlene McGee; a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins; goddaughter, Dominique Boseman; and other loving relatives and friends.
