Mrs. Eddye Williams Gallmon, the daughter of the late Rev. & Mrs. Henry and Florence Williams, was born July 5, 1934 in Seffner, Florida. On Thursday, July 2, 2009, the Lord walked through His beautiful garden, which He planted and found a flower in full bloom and plucked it for His glory to be with Him forever, for God, hath made everything beautiful in His garden. Mrs. Gallmon was educated in the Hillsborough County School District, graduating from Middleton High School. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and remained faithful until death. Mrs. Gallmon was married to the late Deacon Albert L. Gallmon, Sr. From this union came three blessed children, Albert, Freeman and Kaffie. Mrs. Gallmon spent the early portions of her life as a homemaker as well as a child care provider for a host of local children. She became a community activist when in 1965, she asked two other mothers to enroll their African American sons into Dowdell Junior High School, in Clair Mel City. Mrs. Gallmon refused to have her boys bused ten miles into Tampa from Progress Village. Because of her courage as well as Mrs. Nettie Jones and Mrs. Annie Ruth Hicks, Dowdell was fully integrated the following school year. While retired, Mrs. Gallmon loved visiting with her two sons, daughter and grand children. She was preceded in death by: her parents Rev. & Mrs. Henry and Florence Williams; and her husband Deacon Albert L. Gallmon Sr. She leaves to share and cherish loving memories of her : 2 sons, Rev.
