Edna B.
Jackson
October 25, 1933 – February 4, 2026
Edna Breleur Jackson was born in Colon, Republic of Panama, on the 25 of October 1933, to Stephen Jean Breleur and Octavia Skeete Lewis. She had her confirmation in the Catholic Church as a teenager. Always a Christian-minded young woman, Edna was exposed to the Seventh Day Adventist faith by Marie and Charles Morgan, the couple who would later become her loving in-laws. After the birth of her first son, Alberto, Edna began to keep the Sabbath and was baptized at the age of 19. The loving relationship and spiritual guidance she received from her in-laws lasted until their passing. Edna was joined in matrimony to the late Leopoldo Kinlock, and from this union came Isilda, Julian, Sandra, Ricardo and Ernesto.
A few years after the dissolution of her first marriage, Edna met, dated, and fell in love with Victor Jackson, who would become her loving husband and lifetime companion. In 1962, Edna moved back to Panama City and was united in holy matrimony to Victor Emmanuel Jackson. From that union, two sons were born, Victor Jr. and Jose, and a daughter, Victoria. During this time she became a member of the Berean SDA Church located in the district of Rio Abajo, where she served as a Sabbath School superintendent for many years and co-founded Llano Bonito SDA Church. Edna had always been a hard-working, forward-thinking woman.
She established a small home-based business that consisted of baking a variety of goods and building a loyal clientele. In 1965, she was able to expand her business and build her second home. This success enabled her to become financially solvent, making it possible for her to migrate to Brooklyn, NY in 1982. While living in New York City, Edna became a Certified Nurse Assistant and worked in hospitals as well as providing in-home care. During this time, through her hard work and financial wisdom, she purchased her third home in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, NY. In 2005, after 23 years as a dedicated healthcare worker, Edna retired and relocated to Valrico, FL, where she purchased her fourth home. There she lived with her husband for approximately 15 years.
After the passing of her beloved husband and as she faced ongoing health challenges, her children decided she should no longer live alone. It was then decided that she would move in with her daughter, Sandra, and her son-in-law, Neville Jones (affectionately known as "Pops"). Edna spent her days in Bible study, reading, and prayer. She also devoted time to calling and encouraging friends, neighbors, and her children, urging them to strengthen their walk with God. One of her greatest joys was attending church, where she was warmly embraced and deeply loved by the congregation. Above all, she eagerly looked forward to the sounding of the trumpet call.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings, her late husband Victor E Jackson and her two sons Alberto, Ernesto and grandchild Neville.
She is survived by seven children; Isilda, Julian (Sonia), Sandra (Neville), Ricardo (Carmen), Victor (Wanda), Jose, and Victoria (Jeremey); grandchildren, Angelica, Suleika, Fernando, Michel, Christian, Raymond, Carlos, Stephanie, Ernesto Jr, Jenniffer, Emmanuel, Stephanie, Nadine, Melany, Christopher, Michael, David, Oscar, Elizabeth, Fiama, Kevin,Victor III, Emma, Maryamy, Julian Jr, Justin, Elisa, Alexis, Katelyn, Christopher, Casio and 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elsa, Esther S, Candelaria, Iris, Bernadette, Cleopatra, Marjorie and Esther and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of joyful memories, shaped by a life devoted to service, faith, and love.
