Obituary

Homegoing celebration for Mr. Edward J. Ferguson of Tampa, who passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, in Adel, Georgia will be held Saturday, August 23rd, 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 29th Street, Rev. Dr. Evan Burrows, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Edward was born on March 16, 1989 in Tampa, Florida to Stracy Brown and Simon Ferguson. He was one of six siblings and loved his family and cultivating his ministry. Edward graduated from Valdosta High School in Valdosta, Georgia, and continued his educational journey at Artistic Nail and Beauty Academy (Tampa) and became a professional Barber. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lawrence Brown; great grandmothers, Josephine Ashwood and Thelma Branton and great uncles, Oscar Harris and Lucious Langston. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted mother: Stracy Brown; father, Simon Ferguson (Kathy), Tampa, FL; sisters, Jarazar Kearesa, Teresa Kearesa, Antwanisha Hill, Tofoya Hill and Shariunta Williams, all of Tampa, FL; brothers, Everett Ferguson and Anthony Hill; grandparents, Johnny and Dorothy Williams, Everett Ferguson, Gloria Ferguson and David Lee; uncles, Johnny Williams (Tonya), Lorenzo Williams, Oscar Corry Williams and Richard Ashwood; aunts, Dasisy Ashwood and James, Hazel Fields (Arnold) and Renetta Sanders (Larry), Shamika Sandoval and Kamala Mackey; cousins, Anthony Branton (Christy), Tacoma, Washington, Michael Fields, Kiki, Shakishia, Anika Sandoval, Messian Turner, KeWaun Roberts, Amare Wright, Jamari Plaza, Thelma Branton, Wilbert Branton, Herman Wilborne (Karon) and Eddie Branton all of Tampa, Florida; godparent, Johnnie Addie Isson; and a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, August 22nd, from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
