Edward Woltmann, Sr. lived quite a life, one filled with love, laughter, family and many wonderful memories. Above all, he was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Edward and his beloved wife, Cathy, shared a long and beautiful life together and were looking forward to celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on September 25th. They were true partners throughout their marriage. Edward had an even temper and a steady nature that brought balance to their life together. He was also a hardworking man who cared deeply for his family. One of Edward’s most memorable qualities was his great sense of humor, especially when it came to Cathy. He loved to tease and playfully antagonize her and could still fool her whenever he managed to keep a straight face. Eventually, though, his laughter would give him away. Those lighthearted moments were part of the love and friendship they shared throughout their many years together. 

A devoted New York sports fan, Edward loved cheering on the New York Yankees, New York Giants and New York Knicks. Sports brought him a great deal of enjoyment over the years. He also enjoyed camping, trips to the casino, and simply spending time enjoying life with the people he loved. Edward will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his steady and even temperament, his wonderful sense of humor, and most of all, the love he had for his family and friends. After nearly 50 years of marriage and a lifetime of memories, his presence will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerard Woltmann and Mary Whelan; brother, Michael; daughter, Stephanie; and granddaughter, Znyiah. 

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, of 49 years, Cathy; four children, Edward, Jr., (Stacy), Joseph (Jennifer) and Christopher; grandchildren, Amelia, Gianna, Adonis, Cedric, Donte and Bryan; sisters, Theresa, and Eileen; and a host of other family members and friends.
