Obituary

Homegoing service for Bro. Elden Vincent Clay of Tampa, who passed away on Friday, August 5th, will be held on Saturday, August 13th, 2:30 p.m., at 34th Church of God, 3000 N. 34th Street, Rev. Thomas Scott, pastor with Bishop Willie C. Barb, providing the message. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Brother Elden Vincent Clay was born in Albany, Georgia and relocated to Tampa, Florida in 1975. He attended the public schools of Hillsborough County. He was a member of 26th Ave. Church of God under the leadership of Bishop Willie C. Barb and Mother Barb. Elden enjoyed working as a landscaper and irrigation specialist. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Culberth Clay, sister, Agretta M. Clay and nephew, Gerard Robinson. Elden leaves to cherish his memories: a loving devoted father, John Clay (Joann); 2 loving sons, Myquise R. Clay and Elden Vincent Clay, Jr.; 4 brothers, Sam Culberth, John F. Clay, Jr. (Bernice) and Scott Leon Clay and Bobby Jackson; 3 sisters, Velvet Jackson (Michael), Debra Clay (Sam) and Wendy Clay Barnes (Frank); sister-in-law, Cheryl Williams (Curtis); a host of aunts, Ernestine, Julia, Marion, Claretha, Catherine, Marie, Doris and Ba-Ruth; uncles, Ricky and Robert Henry Clay (Ada Mae); and a host of nephews, Limiuel, Wayne, Sam, Jr., Jermaine, Termaine, Sam, II, Paul, Devonta, Javarius, Jeddis, Gerald, Tyler and Antonio; a host of nieces, Shananet, Samantha, Ashanti, Samone, Velvet, Tawanda, Xuxanyc and Traneisha; and a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, August 12th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
