A homegoing celebration for Elder Sylvester Harris, Jr. of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 will be held Saturday, May 26th, 11:00 a.m. at House of Prayer of Eternal Ministries, 1301 S. 78th Street, Sr. Pastor Aaron Harris, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Sylvester was born March 11, 1951 in Tampa, Florida to the late Sylvester Harris, Sr. and Nezzie Harris. He enjoyed playing chess, watching sports events and photography. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Jean Harris. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his wife, Rose Harris; children, Kimberly Thornton (Ronald), Isaiah Harris and Quentin Harris (Tiana); grandchildren, Teon, Reanna, Rakim, Tarajiah, Jaylen, Reggie, Aaliyah and Skyla; a host of great-grandchildren; brothers, Aaron Harris (Sommer), Eugene Harris, Raleigh Harris and Truman Mincy; sisters, Vivian Harris, Ebony Harris, O'Keya Gambrell and Henrietta Bell; nieces, Kuma Gardner, Miriam Harris and Layla Mincy; nephews, Emanuel Harris, Duntarrius Toomer and Car'Jaedon Williams; cousins, Melvin Davis, Evelyn Davis, David Bostick and Lora Godlock (Willliam); god-daughters, Phyllis and Kennedy Brewer, Treniece Tomlin and SaDawndra Ray; special family friends, Tramel family, Shead family, Lewis family, Tim family, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Canty, Kaydell Harris, Redding family, Carter family, Jenkins family, Wenzell Stewart and family, Lawrence Range family, Watts family, Reeves family; special thanks to Tampa General Hospital, Lifepath Hospice, George S. Middleton Class of 1969; brothers-in-law, Larry Redding, Ronnie Redding (Rhynnette), Robert Carter (Rose); sisters-in-law, Barbara Jenkins (Robert) and Beverly Carter; nephews, Robert Jenkins, Bernard Jenkins and Donald Ailen; nieces, Talisha Redding, Cindy, Neil and Grace; a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at House of Prayer Eternal Ministries on Friday, May 25th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
