Homegoing services for Ms. Elizabeth Winkfield Roberts, "Lil Liz" of Tampa, who passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, will be held Saturday, June 25th, 2:00 p.m. at Peace Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 2607 E. 24th Ave., Rev. Albert Gallmon, Jr., pastor officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Ms. Roberts was a native of Tampa, Florida. She attended the public schools of Hillsborough County. She was a member of Peace Progressive M.B. Church and a devoted loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lizzie and Willie Winkfield, Sr.; grandson, Za'Conyae Brazelton; cousin, Pennesha Wimbley and nephews, Natue A. Williams and Ira D. Roberts, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories her 3 children, Meoceon L. Davis, Barrington Roberts and Violet Roberts (Deon Singletary); 10 grandchildren, Devondre Davis, Ronnie Ponder, Robert Howell, Cari Bradford, Mekhanian Bradford, Zamon Jenkins, Taja Roberts, Sanaria Roberts, Zuguary Allen and Prince Khyane' Roberts; her mother, Essie Reese and step-father, Johnnie Reese; her father, Ira Roberts, Sr. (Jafar); five brothers, Ira D. Roberts, Jr., Bennie Boyd, Willie L. Boyd, Antonio Powell and Ilyas Ali Jafar; two sisters, Margaret A. Roberts and Essie Winkfield (Momagal); three aunts, Lutricia Monroe (Coy Brooks), Luvenia Wimbely and Elizabeth "Lucy" Garrett (Tommy Tucker); one uncle, Willie Winkfield, Jr.; one great-great aunt, Ruth Mitchell; one sister-in-law, Terri Roberts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who all loved her and will miss her. The viewing will be held on Friday, June 24th, at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. After the viewing, the family will receive friends at 1722 Warrington Way, Tampa. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
