Ella was born January 2, 1933, in DeSoto, Georgia, to the late Abe Hayes and Mattie Gertrude Wilson Hayes. She attended Public Schools of Vallejo County, CA, Sumter County, GA and Hillsborough County, Tampa, FL. Ms. Ella moved to Florida in the early 1950s. She worked in the early years for Hough's Food Trucks. Ella worked for the HillsboroughCounty School System for over 20 years. She worked first as a cafeteria worker and then retired in January 1997, as a teacher's aide in the Pre-K program. She enjoyed shopping,counseling, socializing, and spending time with family and friends. Ella was best knownfor her sweet spirit and beautiful smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents, AbeHayes and Mattie Gertrude Wilson Hayes; daughter, Brenda Richard; and son, Michael

Evans; sisters, Ruby Hayes and Rosie Lewis; brothers, Arthur Hayes, James Hayes andDennis Cade; and sister-cousin, Thelma White.
