A Private Homegoing Service for Mrs. Eloise Sallie (Anthony) Allen of Tampa, Florida who passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020, will be held on Monday, September 28th at 4:00 p.m., Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.,Rev. Anita Davis Williams, pastor officiating.
Eloise was born April 7, 1934 in Tampa, Florida. She attended the public schools of Hillsborough County, graduating from Middleton Senior High School, class of 1950.She was a devoted member of Bethany Christian Discipleship Church under direction of Pastor R. Lockett during the pandemic and her illness, she worshiped with Rev. Anita Davis Williams, pastor at Holsey Temple CME Church. Mother Allen loved spending time and caring for her grand and great grandchildren. She enjoyed jewelry making, accounting for non-profits, religious studies and church worship.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louise and Willie Anthony; siblings, Walter, Margie, Irene and Jimmie; husband, Herbert N. Allen, Sr. She is survived by her children, Herbert Allen, Jr., Michele Allen Patterson, Sheila Allen and Isaac Allen; grandchildren, Chante Burkes (Marlow), Alexis Allen, Iv Patterson III, Andrew Allen, Florence Harris, Anthony White, Ricky Sailor, Jr., (April) and Winter Allen; great grandchildren, Jazmyn and Jianna Harvey, Jordan Speights, Jayce, Marlow Jr., 'MJ', and Caleb Burkes, Anthony Jr., and Audrey White and Harper 'Chacha' Hunt; nephews, Ken Anthony, Carl Warren, Herman Floyd, Ken Anthony II, Adrian Anthony, Jason Tucker, Gilbert Jones, Jr. (Passion), Glen Williams, Eugene Gainer, Robert Dudley and Jermaine Davis; nieces, Virginia Anderson (John), Joyce Holmes, Denise Williams, Debra Gainer, Irene Davis, Kennetha Carter, Nicole Lake, Michelle Jacobs, Tekarri Gainer, Kenitra Anthony, Alaina Davis and Sonya Dudley; cousins, Gloria Sterix and Cleo Lowe; godchildren, Rev. Anita Davis Williams and Valerie Buchand; friends, Joann Manigo of Sarasota and Pearl Purvis; family friends, Yolanda Amos, Barbara and Robert Lowe, Jerome Greene, Valerie Hills Bethel, Titus Henderson, Koffee Garlington; and a host of other friends and loved ones in the Sarasota and Tampa areas; special thanks to Chapters Health (LifePath Hospice) the Green Team namely, Jill and Rhonda who lovingly cared for her. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Monday, September 28th from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapelfor the service.
