Homegoing service for Mrs. Eloise A. Ashley of Tampa, who passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, will be held on Saturday, July 9th, 4:00 p.m., at New Bethel Progressive M.B. Church, 3011 E. Northbay St., Rev. Reginald T. Webb, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Eloise Andrews Ashley was born in Ocilla, Georgia on April 17, 1953. Eloise was married in holy matrimony to Thomas Ashley. She was a member of New Bethel Progressive M.B. Church, where she sang in the #1 Choir. She enjoyed sewing and was very creative. Eloise was an artist who loved to draw. She was a mother and a friend to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alma Andrews, aunt and adoptive mother who raised her, Grace Cooper Blount, brother, Johnny Cooper, aunt, Willie C. Andrews, uncle, Jesse W. Andrews and son-in-law, Darryl Gordon, II. She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted and loving husband, Thomas Ashley; loving children, Ocil Shawn Roberts and wife, Renee, Alma Andrews Ashley and Valeria Gordon; grandchildren, Thomas, Michahi and Alex Ashley, Karrington and Darius Gordon and Elijah Roberts; brothers, Bebe Green and Edgar Anderson; sisters, Ruth Burch and Altamease Simmons; aunt, Gertrude Andrews; uncle, Charles Cooper; sisters-in-law, Delores Ashley and Neily Anderson; brother-in-law, Rudolph Ashley; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives, church family and sorrowing friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, July 8th from 7 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church at 3:45 p.m. for the service.
