A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Eloise Lee Smith of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019, will be held on Saturday, September 21st, 2:00 p.m., at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Blvd., Rev. Timothy Lancaster, officiating. Eloise was born August 8, 1942 in Arlington, Georgia to the late Carzell Pinkney, Sr. and Hilda Hall Pinkney. She was a former member of Piney Grove M.B. Church, Arlington, GA, Pilgrim Rest Freewill Baptist Church, Lakeland, Florida and Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church, Tampa, Florida. She graduated from Kestler High School in Arlington, Georgia and later attended Albany State pursing a business degree. She previously worked for Lakeland General Hospital, Kraft Foods and retired from Group Technologies. Her presence, laughter and love will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was known by some as 'Teate' and others knew her as 'Wild Bill'. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter Willie Amones, Robert Smith and companion, Jessie Williams; siblings, Mary 'Sallie Mae' Pinkney Smith, Arvilla 'Pepper' Pinkney Simmons, Pearlie 'Bot' Pinkney Webb, Adena 'Tiny' Pinkney Reynolds, Hannah Pinkney Hudson, Deacon Carzell E. 'Charlie Boy' Pinkney, Jr., Barbara Ann 'Slooby' Pinkney Bryant and Leaner 'Moochie' Pinkney Leveston. She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Rachel Ann Amones and Rita Elaine Smith; granddaughter, Samya Hicks; sister, Zellean 'Polly' Pinkney Mackey, Albany, GA; brother-in-law, Tommy Leveston, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Saturday one hour prior to the service. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
