A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Elsie Lee Brewster of Tampa, Florida who passed away, Tuesday, November 19, 2019, will be held Saturday, November 30th, 11:00 a.m. at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, 8525 N. 78th Street, Rev. Bernard McCray, officiating. The interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Elsie was born Meridian, Mississippi on March 8, 1935 to the late Milton and Viola (Ruffin) Coleman. She enjoyed going on family outings, playing solitaire and crossword puzzles and watching the Family Feud game show. She was preceded in death by her parents, twin sister, Elsie Bee Brassfield; 3 brothers, Milton, Jr., Matthew, Sr., and Robert Coleman; 4 sons, Joe Nathan Brewster, James, Darryl and Dwight Brewster-Mosley and granddaughter, Shante Brewster. She leaves to cherish her memories: children, Grady Brewster, Jr., Joann Brewster Bell, Joyce McCray, Rosie Lee Brewster, and Elaine Brewster; 17 grandchildren, Kenny, Trenese, Joyce, and Grady Brewster III (Peaches), Lakithia Dziadon (Joseph), Christina Surgeon (Linus), Terran Bell (Amiee), Teleah Bell (Tony), Antwaine Christopher (Jennifer), Kelvin McCray, John Shuler, Reginald and Kerwin Alexander, Donshea (Ja-mon) Hill, Mark Sherman, Jr., Marquita Morgan (Stanley) and Arsenio Coston (Samantha); 52 great grandchildren; brothers, Leonard 'Joe' Coleman (Elaine), Roosevelt Coleman (Eola), Larry Ruffin (Bertha) and Jerry Ruffin (Cynthia); sisters, Annie Kate Patton (Fred), Geraldine Chappel, Evelyn Conaway, Jeanette Clark and Maxine Hall; sisters-in-law, Joyce Coleman and Dorothy Coleman; 52 nieces and nephews; 114 great nieces and nephews; and a host of special friends who will dearly miss her. The visitation will be held Friday, November 29th at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the service on Saturday.
