Emma was born in Manhattan, New York City, NY but lived her entire life in Tampa, FL and was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County. She graduated from Chamberlain High School in 1975. Emma was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, friend, neighbor, and overall counselor to all. She spent many days with the North Tampa Rams, Nuccio Jaguars, Town & Country Packers, Westchase Colts, Tampa Catholic Crusaders, and The AAU team. Emma had a very loving and caring spirit.  She was loved by all, and she loved everyone. She left a lasting impression on anyone that she came in contact with.  She was a peacemaker, a special crochet genius and made a blanket for anyone she met, whether they asked or not. She had a very loving heart.

She was preceded in death by her birth mother, Martha Anderson Ravnell; father, Thomas J. Ravnell; 2nd mother, Ann Ravnell Plummer; aunts, Christine McCaslin and Ernestine Johnson; husband, Curtis Stewart and a very special partner in life Robert "Pookie" Session.
