Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Erica Charmaine Benetta Gaffney (aka) "Super Star L.A." of Tampa, FL who passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015 will be held Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street, Dr. S. Evan Burrows, Sr. Pastor, Eulogist. The interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Erica was born in Tampa, Florida and moved to Los Angeles, California at a young age, where she attended school. Erica attended First Baptist Church of College Hill. She was preceded in death by her mother, Valerie Yolanda Thompson; grandmother, Adell Strafford and grandfather, Benny Gibbs. She leaves to rejoice in her memory: daughter, Yannika N. Gaffney; son, Mekhi C. Gaffney; father, Benny Gaffney; grandmother, Fannie M. Keith; like a mother, Brenda Washington-Thomas; sisters and brothers, Damita Sessions, Elton Gaffney, LeAndre Gaffney, Kesha Gaffney and Kenneth Gaffney; aunts and uncles, Oscar F. Harris, Rudolph J. Hills both of Jacksonville, FL, Altamese and Juanita Thompson, Geneva Jackson, Audrey Thompson of Newark, NJ, Sgt. Major (Ret), James N. Love of Kansas City, MO, Nathaniel Thompson of New Jersey, Bernard, Jay, Curtis and David Thompson of Washington, D.C. and Maurice Gaffney; special aunt, Lois Cromoty; very close cousins, LaWanda and Malethia Love, Oscar F. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral home on Friday, November 13th from 5 to 8 p.m. the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
