Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Erma Mae Thomas of Tampa who passed away, Sunday, October 20, 2013, will be held Friday, October 25th, 11:00 a.m., at Beulah Baptist Institutional Church, 1006 W. Cypress St., Dr. W. James Favorite, Sr., pastor officiating. Interment will be in Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery, Brandon, Florida. Erma was born June 8, 1931 in Princeton, West Virginia to the late Joseph and Bridget Booker. Erma was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Malline Clark and Aremelia Graham. She graduated with her B.S. degree in Education from West Virginia State College and her Master's Degree in Education from University of Virginia. Erma was an educator for the Southwest School District of Columbus, Ohio for over 30 years. She enjoyed socializing and travelling with her family and friends. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Institutional Church. Erma served as the XIV (14th) National President from 1980-1982 of the National Epicureans, Inc. and chartered the Tampa Chapter National Epicureans, Inc. She also was a charter member of the Tampa Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She leaves to cherish loving and fond memories with her husband of 56 years, Charles J. Thomas, Jr.; daughter, Pamela D. Robinson; grandson, Gregory L. Robinson, Jr.; nieces, Deborah Hughes, Renee Lowe, Carla Graham, Rochelle L. Wilkerson, Ellie Thomas, Yolanda King and Andrea Johnson; nephews, Patrick Thomas, Mike Thomas, Bryan Hooks and Gerald Hooks; brothers-in-law, Robert Thomas and Lewis Thomas; sister-in-law, Lillian Hooks; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends. The visitation will be held Thursday, October 24th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Inst. Church.
