A homegoing celebration for Mr. Ernest Smith of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Thursday, Saturday March 21, 2019 will be held on Saturday, April 6th 11:00 a.m. at New St. Matthew M.B. Church, 1006S. 50th Street, Pastor Alec Hall, officiating. The interment will be in Florida National Cemetery on Monday April 8, 2019. Ernest was enlisted in the Army/Airforce in February 26, 1946 until his separation at MacDill Air Force Base on February 25, 1950. He retired from Alessi Bakery in the early 1990's as the Head Baker. He knew his personal Savior and was a God-fearing man. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Smith and Viola Leeks Smith-Parks; wife, Inez Smith; brothers, Sidney, John, Collis and Arthur Smith and sisters, Ella Miller, Cloise Parks, Marvy Willis and Rebecca Mathis; daughter, Cynthia Maloy; sons, Bobby Harris and Michael Smith and granddaughter, Rashonda Smith. He leaves to cherish his memories with his loving children: sons, Andrew Carnegie Tampa, FL, Theodore Smith (Diane) of Verona, WI, Gregory Smith, Larry Smith (Gloria), Vincent Smith all of Tampa, FL, Ricky Smith, Sr. of Madison, WI and Keith Smith, Sr., Tampa, FL.; daughters, Ernestine 'Tina' Rance (Ralph) Tampa, FL, Eleanor Baker Las Vegas, NV, Pamela Mutcherson (Sam), Felicia Broadnex (Emanuel) Tampa, FL; like daughters, Jessie Perry (Kenneth), Belinda Harvey, Vivian Smith, Robyn Andrews (Patrick) and Tommiette King; grandchildren, Pamela Carnegie, Bridgette Carnegie, Erika Cohen (Gil), Eric Corbitt (Ashely), Tiffany Wilson (Bryan), Auhura Ducals (Edward), Adrian Smith (Kimberly), Zachary Smith (Kristen), Venisha Bryan (Josh), Aaron Smith (Cindy), Tamara Entsminger (Ken), Nicole Santiago (Luis), William Campbell Jr., Cedric Smith, LaCole Smith, Brent Smith, Gregory Smith J., Gregory Smith ll, Lisa Smith-Hall, LaKeshia Smith, Brianna Smith, Kenderick Smith, Jamal Smith, Ricardo Smith, Jr. (Roniece), Ernest Smith, Ebonee Smith, DaJuan Smith, Keith Smith Jr., Keith Smith ll, Keisha Smith, TJ Mutcherson (Kristina) and Emanuel Broadnex II; eighty great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; very dedicated brothers, Rev. Robert Smith all of Lilburn, GA; a host of loving nieces, nephews and cousins; two very special cousins, Annie Atwaters of Griffin, GA and Arthur Akins (Claudette) of Tampa, FL; ex-son-in-law, Eric Corbitt, Sr.; very special neighbors, Barbara Johnson, Doris Saddle, Mary Levette, Joan Walker, Annabelle Mimmenger and Juanita Cozar. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, April 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
