Homegoing Services for Mr. Ernest Wright of Tampa who passed away Friday, March 8th, 2013, will be held Saturday, March 16th, 5:30 p.m., at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Michael Neely, officiating. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Ernest Wright was born April 28, 1931 in Tampa, Florida to Ella Jenkins. Ernest served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1955. He enjoyed smoking a good cigar and spending time with his friends' playing cards and pokeno. He was known for making great delicious sandwiches. He was employed as a roofer for many years. Ernest was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jake and Mary Scott; mother, Ella Jenkins Scott; sister, Margaret Woodard, aunts, Lula Brown, Lottie Scott, Bernice Jackson and Rosa Scott; 3 nieces, 1 nephew and cousin, Bessie M. Lewis. He leaves to cherish his memories companion, Janice Clark; grandson, IT2 Rontavious Grant (Kia), U.S. Navy; granddaughter, Nakisha Clark (Jerome Gilchrist); nephews, Ke'Ron Moore and Mario Covington, Jr.; longtime friend, Dorothy Cherry, Vienna GA; sister-in-law, Willie Pearl Thorpe, Vienna, GA; devoted friends and neighbors, Ms. Irish, Mr. Charles, Ms. Claudia and Ms. Valerie Brown; and other sorrowing relatives and friends. The visitation will be held Thursday, March 14th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel for the service on Saturday.
