Esther D. Walker "Darlene" was born on November 2, 1962, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to Atlas Garner, Jr., and Margaret Garner. Darlene's (aka"Gram-Ham") unselfish, faithful, and devoted service to God, her husband, children, grandchildren, and family allowed them to pursue their dreams and aspirations. Esther was a proud USF Alumni Association member. She worked for Rite Aid Distribution Warehouse. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and taking time traveling.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, Atlas Garner Jr., and Margaret Garner; and brother, Melvin Summers.

She leaves cherished memories to her loving husband, Michael D. Walker; daughters, Laquanda Knights, and Dominique Smith; grandchildren, Monique Warren, Damone Warren, J'Couri Webber, Nveya Smith, and Aaliyah Smith; brothers, John Summers (Maria), Charles Garner, James Oneal Garner (Demetrius) and Richard Garner; sisters, Janice King (Michael), Arlene Gillins (Marlon), and Juanita Parker (Mario) along with a host of other family and friends.
