Mrs. Etha Mae German
A homegoing celebration for Mrs. Etha Mae German of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019, will be held on Saturday, June 1st, 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive M.B. Church, 4008 E. Cayuga Street, Pastor Michael V. White, officiating. The interment will be held in Garden of Memories Cemetery on Sunday, June 2, 2019, 1:00 p.m. Etha was born January 10, 1937 in Lamont, Florida to the late Deacon James and Rosebud Finlayson. She was a faithful and devoted member of Mt. Olive M.B. Church, where she served as a deaconess. She enjoyed reading her bible, daily devotions and talking on the phone with her family and friends. She was well known for her loving nature, generous spirit and giving heart. She knew the true meaning of Love. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 6 sisters. She leaves to cherish her fond memories with her loving and devoted husband, Jessie German; 1 son, Archie Washington (Cynthia); 5 daughters, Brenda Livingston (Eddie), Trina Washington, Sonia Williams (Andrew), Angela Wheeler and Carla Williams (Edward); 1 brother, James Finlayson (Mary); 1 sister-in-law, Azzie Lee Finlayson; 1 brother-in-law, Rev. Harold Thomas (Bermice). After marriage to Jessie German she gained a loving and caring daughter, Deborah Martin; 1 son, Jessie German, Jr.; 2 daughters, Barbara German and Patricia Morrow (Duane); sisters-in-law, Geneva Dunston (Elder Gurther), Anna Wright, Rebecca Walker, Claretha and Florence German; brother-in-law, Robert German (Dorothy) and William German; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, god-children, nephews, nieces, friends and church family. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, May 31st from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday for the service.
