Homegoing services for Mrs. Ethel Mae Smith Ellison of Tampa who passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, will be held on Saturday, December 22nd, 2:00 p.m., at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Michael Neely, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Ellison was born July 17, 1938 in Ft. Valley, Georgia to the late Jamie McCray and Ortha Clyca. She was a member of Deeper Life Ministries Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 daughters, Shirley Ellison, Jeanie Joseph and Roas Ellison and son, Charles Ellison. She leaves to cherish her memories: children, Shirley Talcon, Mary Smith, Betty Smith and Horcas Smith, all of Ft. Valley, Georgia, Gloria Ellison and Vera Ellison, both of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren, Jennifer Goodness, Wanda Goodness and Gabriel Smith, all of Ft. Valley, Georgia, Joe Washington, James Canadiate and wife, Maurice Barnes, Willie Ellison, Emanuel Joseph, Jennifer Owens and husband, Deathrica Canadiate, Frances Canadiate, Jeanette Joseph, Cenessia Exuma, Ashley Blackmon, Tramayne Bell and Willie Bell, Jr., all of Tampa, Florida; 41 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; aunt, Sarah Smith, Ft. Valley, Georgia; cousin, Betty Shird, Bradenton, Florida; a host of nephews, nieces, other family and friends; special friends, Mother Amelia Hicks, Mother Altamese White, Sister Tenny Wendy, Bertha Long of South Carolina; and caregivers, Sandra Wint and Connie Chambers; and a special thank you to hospice for all their hard spent time and patience. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, December 21st, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
