Obituary

A Celebration of Life graveside service for Mrs. Eva Mae Moore, who departed this life on September 25, 2021, will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E Hanna Ave. Minister Bruce Bryant of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. The interment will follow.

On October 30, 1919, God blessed Rufus and Amelia Adkins with a baby girl born in Decatur County, Georgia. She was 1 of 12 children. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Rutha Mae, Patsy, Benjamin (BJ), Raymond, Trudie, Mylie, Maxine, and Allie Lee. Eva Mae Moore was a resident of Bainbridge, Georgia, and attended the local schools. She later studied cosmetology and became an entrepreneur, owning and operating a beauty shop. She married James D. Moore, and from this union, two sons were born. She was a wife, a mother, and a faithful member of St James Missionary Baptist Church for many years. Eva was a pillar of the community, who was loved and respected for her Christian walk. She later relocated to Tampa, Florida where she joined the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. John Willis. She was a member of the adult choir, served on the usher board, and went to Sunday school faithfully. She worked for the Hillsborough County School system for 20 years until she retired. She lived her golden years with her family. She leaves precious memories of her to 2 sons, Levi Moore and Melzie Moore (Linda); 3 siblings, Hazel Mathews, Olivia Johnson and Rufus Adkins Jr.; 7 grandchildren, Sharon M Butler, Cynthia Graham (Bobby), Carlos Moore (Christine), Jonathan Moore (Natasha), Julia Daniels, Alexander Moore (Paola) and Melzie Johnson; 14 great-grandchildren, Bobby Glen, Tiffany G, Carlos Jr., Corey, Eva, William, Julius, Nadia, Myia, Natasha, Melzie Jr, April, Tiffany J, and Thomas; She has fourteen great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. We are following CDC guidelines for wearing masks and social distancing.

The family and friends are asked to meet at the graveside for the service.
