Homegoing services for Evangelist Rubye E. Hicks who passed away, Friday, April 1, 2011, will be held Saturday, April 9th, 11:00 a.m., St. Luke AME, 2709 N. 25th Street, Tampa, Pastor Ronald Williams, officiating with Bishop Saughanto Austin, eulogist. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Evangelist Rubye E. Hicks was a faithful member of Ministry of Spirit and Truth. She was a former member of St. Luke AME. She was a retired teacher of Hillsborough County School System. She was preceded in death by her father, William Louis James; mother, Annie Grace James; brother Harold Washington James; and daughter, Laseme Xiomara Austin Shine. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Donnie Hicks; her children, Renaldo Austin (Brenda), Llalando Austin (Ola), Nino Austin (Kathee) and Saughanto Austin (Queen); a host of grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; brothers, Earl James and Curtis James (Jackie); aunt, Artie Nichols; nieces, Belinda James and Keita Dawson (Calvin); nephew, Reginald Snell (Audrey); a host of cousins, relatives, church family and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday evening. The family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church at 10:45 a.m. for the service on Saturday.
