A homegoing celebration for Mrs. Evelina Hobbs Hudson of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018 will be held Saturday, June 16th at 2:00 p.m. at Clair Mel First Assembly, 2415 S. 78th St., Pastors John and Gail Raburn, with Pastor Terry Smith, of New Beginning Tabernacle M.B. Church, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Evelina Hobbs Hudson, affectionately known as 'GG', was born August 18, 1928, in Tallahassee, Florida to the late LV Hobbs Sr. and Nellie Miller. Evelina was educated in the Leon County School District. She worked until retirement from St. Joseph's Hospital after 26 years as a dedicated C.N.A. She was a faithful member of New Beginning Tabernacle M.B. Church, where she served as a deaconess. Her hobbies included; sewing, designing/making jewelry, completing puzzles, teaching her grandchildren, cooking/baking, doing hair, and studying the word of God. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Frances Hobbs; husband, Jewell Hudson; son, Herman Lee Burrell; brothers, Eddie Miller, Elder LV Hobbs Jr., and Henry Hobbs, Sr.; sister, Jennetta Madison; and great-granddaughter, Wynter Bullock. She leaves to cherish her precious memories with her daughters, Carolyn Hudson Clark (Ricky), April Arnold (Kouri), and Vanessa Self (Willie); two loving granddaughters, Tasha Clark, and Latoria Bullock (Winslow); great-grandchildren, Ashley, Amber, Julian, Wynisha, Wallace, Wylishia, Alyse, Micah, Christian, Aidan, Kaleb, and Kinsley; a very special great-grandson and caregiver, Xavier Self; and a host of other relatives including nieces, nephews, cousins, and sisters-in-law. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, June 15th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
