A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Evelyn Durden of Lutz, Florida who passed away, Thursday, January 30, 2020, will be held Friday, February 7th, 11:00 a.m. at Holsey Temple CME Church, 3729 N. 15th Street, Pastor Anita D. Williams; Min. Linda Fontenot, Phd., officiating. The interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Evelyn was born in Opelousas, Louisiana on March 22, 1952 to the late Albert and Gladys Joseph. She attended Christ the Rock Community Church in Cooper City, Florida. Evelyn was very talented and enjoyed quilting beautiful quilts, making natural soaps and cooking delicious meals for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Ruby Nell Thierry. She will be dearly missed by her devoted family: her husband, Donald Durden; children, Misha Carson, Michael Durden (Kiana) and Erica Durden; grandchildren, Kiara Carson and Camille Durden; brothers, Rufus Joseph (JoAnn), Ellis Joseph (Clara), Samuel Joseph (Sherry), Albert Joseph, Jr. (Gloria), Joshua Joseph (Barbara) and Carl Joseph (Sheila); sisters, Vanessa Clayton, Annie Jean Jones and Daisy Joseph; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends who will miss her.
