Obituary

Mrs. Fannie was born on April 10, 1932 in Prattville, Alabama, to the late Ernest Smith and Ora Lee Minor. Mrs. Fannie's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness. Mrs. Fannie graduated from Southern Baptist Seminary Junior College in Alabama. Mrs. Fannie worked for The Department of Children and Families as an Administrative Assistant for 35 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Red Society (Red Hatters), and a life member of the NAACP. Mrs. Fannie was affiliated with Faith Temple Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Fannie was preceded in death by her parents: Earnest Smith, Sr. and Ora Lee Minor; siblings, Ernest Smith, Jr., Gloss Smith III, Joe W. Smith, Ossie Mae Smith, Dorothy Mae Smith, and Betty Jean.

She is survived by: beloved son, Vincent Smith; daughter, Eleanor Baker-Campbell; and her daughter-in-Christ, Ysa Jones. Mrs. Fannie's legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren, Natalia Rogers, Gene Williams, Sr. (Roswell), Marchais Williams, Xaviera Williams, William Campbell (Angela), and Sedrick Campbell; her great-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Sedarion, Treyveon (Zephaniah), William, Jr., Isaiah, Ayane, Jaron, Gene III, Za'Riyah, Avery, Genae, Maurice III, Chantelle, and Maurice; as well as her great-great-grandchildren, Anthony, Cesar, and Treyveon, Jr., who will miss her guiding presence. Mrs. Fannie was the cherished sister of Earlene Smith-Pinckney, Audrey Smith-Hodsden, Nancy Smith-Anderson, and Ollie Smith-Smith. Her cousin, Odessa Mora, along with a host of other relatives, family, and friends, will remember Mrs. Fannie for her generous spirit and loving nature.
