A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Farris Coleman 'Max' of Jonesboro, Georgia who passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019 will be held on Tuesday, August 6th, 12:00 p.m. at Bible-Based Fellowship Church, 4811 Ehrlich Road, Pastor Rev. Anthony C. White, officiating. The interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Farris "Max" Coleman was born July 28, 1952, in Swainsboro, Georgia. He moved to Tampa, Florida with this mother, Ella B. Coleman, where Farris spent his childhood and was educated. He graduated from Hillsborough High School and received an associates in science degree from United Electronics Institute. Farris enlisted in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He recently graduated from Clayton State University in Morrow, Georgia with a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications. He always strived to be the best version of himself. Education was important and personal growth was mandatory! His career was based in technology, but he had a great love for music and entertainment. Farris never met a stranger and once you met him, you would never forget him! Farris met and married his first wife, Mildred Walker, in Tampa, Florida. After moving to Atlanta, Georgia, he met and married his wife of 36 years, Patricia Clay Coleman. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Walker; his father, Eugene Carswell; one sister, Lisa Carswell Thomas and one brother, Excell Hollowings. Farris is survived by is devoted wife, Patricia Clay Coleman; his loving mother, Ella B. Hollowings and step-father, Wesley Hollowings; brothers, Anthony Hollowings, Reginald Carswell (Charmaine) and Todd Carswell; children, Eric D. Coleman (Shamea), Chastity Nicole Mark (Augustine), Byron Jamal Coleman (Mechelle), Patrick W Clay, and Orisa I. Durggin; niece, Melissa Cobb; nephews, Antonio Thomas and Travis Thomas and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and great friends. The visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Tuesday for the service.
