Obituary

Homecoming Celebration for First Lady Mary G. Carson, of 7323 N. Ola Street, who passed away, Monday, June 8, 2009, will be held Saturday, June 13th, 11:00 a.m., First Baptist Church of West Tampa, 1302 N. Willow Ave., Rev. Rayford Harper, pastor with Rev. Eugene Garnett of Spring Hill M.B. Church, officiating. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Mary Geraldine Carson was born January 1, 1951 in Little Washington, North Carolina. Mrs. Carson was the First Lady of New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church, where her husband, Pastor David Paul Carson is the pastor. She enjoyed exercise and was an aerobic instructor. She was also on the Mother's Board, where she served faithfully. Mrs. Carson was preceded in death by her mother, Hattie Alston; sisters, Nanora Hillard and Linda Crandall; and brother, Matthew Crandall. She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Pastor David Paul Carson; son, Bland Crandall; granddaughter, Kristin Crandall; brother, Larry Crandall; sisters, Lois Hales, Wilma Crandall, Joann Alston, Doris Ragsdale and Nancy Alston; nieces, Pastor Lisa Murphy, Minister Jackie Mason, Francesa, Kim, Nicki, Nadine, Terry Lynn and Missia; nephews, Terrance, James, Brandon, Corey and Delano; and 6 other nieces and nephews; special childhood friend, Mary Titus; 10 first cousins and numerous other cousins, relatives and friends. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home June 12, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church at 10:45 a.m. for the service on Saturday.
