Mr. Flord Simmons passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. He was born on May 12, 1950 in Albany, Georgia to the late Rev. Sam J. and Sarah L. Simmons. He attended the public schools of Doughtery County and Hillsborough County. Flord also served in the United States Army from May 5, 1970 until May 4, 1976. Flord enjoyed playing basketball, watching sports and playing with his nieces and nephews. Flord was preceded in death by his parents; 7 brothers, Richard, James, Freddie, Dan and Bobby Simmons, Sammy Lee and Henry Lee Kelson; 1 sister, Lucinda Thomas of Hartford, Connecticut; a devoted aunt, Lester L. Henry; a host of nieces and nephews. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his 2 loving sisters, Betty J. Parker and Agnes J. Sapp both of Tampa, Florida; a devoted longtime companion, Sandra Tioxter of Hartford, Connecticut; a host of nieces and nephews; longtime friends, Willie Singleton, John Cooper and Charles Sapp all of Tampa, Florida; many other good friends in Hartford, Connecticut; special thank you to, John Cooper of Tampa, Florida for all his help.
