September 20, 1931 – April 5, 2025
Ms. Florence Minger was born on September 5, 1931, to Felix and Bethola Lewis Minger. She was an inspiration to the community of Montana City for more than nine decades. She was a community-minded woman who cared for people. Ms. Minger was a tribute to the Montana City community, where she housed people and fed them during their lowest points in life. Ms. Minger graced us with a servant leader mindset in Montana City as a community advocate for more than nine decades. She was a graduate of Middleton High School, class of 1950, and for more than 30 years, she was a manager and supervisor at CJ's Sandwich Shop.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, William, Oliver, Wilmer, and Alva; sister, Dorothy Minger Gray; niece, Valerie Brown; and grandson, Luis Pandales Mosquera.
She leaves to mourn daughters, Carol Williams Ransom and Debra Smith Gray; four grandchildren, Karey Taylor, Christian Williams, Jose Torres Melvis, and Florence Torres Melvis; as well as a host of family members, including nieces, Karla, Kiwania, and Kena Gray, Gwendolyn Johnson, Peggy Gray, and Gail Smith; twelve great-grandchildren; and devoted friend, Elaine Bridges. "Congratulations on your transition, Ms. Minger-we love you".
