Obituary

Homegoing services for Mrs. Frances D. Finch of 4606 N. 15th Street, who passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010, will be held Saturday, July 3rd, 2:00 p.m., Aikens Funeral Home 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Minister Leroy Chatman, officiating. Mrs. Finch was born February 13, 1952 in Lyons, Georgia. She was educated at Wayne County Training School in Jessup, Georgia and had been employed as a certified nursing assistant. She enjoyed reading novels, and socializing with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, father, John W. Lanier; mother, Maggie Lanier and brother, George H. Lanier. She leaves to cherish her memories, son, Dewayne Sims, Sr., three brothers, Willie T. Lanier and Shirley of Jesup, GA, James F. Lanier and Hattie of Tampa, FL, John W. Lanier of Tampa, FL; six sisters, Johnnie L. Johnson of Odum, Georgia, Eva J. Cochran and Sammy Jr. of Tampa, FL, Earlene Ray of Odum, GA, Loretta Bell of Chicago, IL, Mae R. Grant and James of Jesup, GA and Claudia A. Gardner of Vidalia, GA; grandson, Dewayne Sims, Jr. (Telia L. Williams), special nephews, Wayne and Henry Lanier and Antonio McKenzie; god daughter, Irma Green; godsister, Deloise Ray; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of sorrowing long-time friends; close friends, Vera Hicks, Matthew Britton, Doug and Linda Williams and Ethel Mae Williams; and special thanks to the Sherral Perry Family. The viewing will be held Friday evening from 5-8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel for the service at 1:45 p.m.
