Homegoing services for Bro. Frank Barnes, Jr. of Tampa, who passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, will be held on Saturday, July 9th, at 11:00 a.m., Brown's Memorial Church of God In Christ, 2313 E. 27th Ave., Bishop Matthew Williams, pastor; Elder Michael Woodard, eulogist and Apostle Dwight Brown, presiding. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Brother Frank Barnes Jr. was born in Tampa FL. He attended schools in Hillsborough County. He was a member of United Apostolic Church of Jesus presiding Pastor Elder Michael Woodard. He was employee with The City of Tampa Water Department for 18yrs, until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Barnes Sr., mother, Mamie Barnes, Brother Robert (Dottie) Barnes sister, Mary Potts, also his niece, Marie Barnes, and nephew Charles Barnes. He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted and loving wife, Mother Amanda Barnes of 33 years. He also leaves to mourn 7 children: Karen (Dennis) Smith, Frank (Wendy) Barnes III, Latrina Barnes, Tarvis Barnes, Krista Barnes, Eurica (Isaac) Walker and Johnnies Freeman Barnes; a loving sister, Vera Barnes and a dear friend, Rosa Live. He also leaves to mourn his nieces and nephews: Doris (Ted) Johnson, Shirleyfye (David) Abibo, Michelle Barnes, Carolyn Barnes, Horace Barnes, and Michael (Latara) Bennett, and great aunt, Lillian (Joe) Brown and family; brothers-in-law, Ronald Woodard, Taft Woodard Jr., Elder Michael (Angelic) Woodard, Edwin Woodard, and Barbara Ann (Joe) Singleton and a host of grandchildren, great nieces, and nephews and devoted godmother, Carrie Sterrex. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, July 8th, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
