Obituary

Homegoing services for Mr. Freddie Lee Edwards, Sr., of Tampa, who passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011, will be held on Saturday, August 20th, 2:00 p.m., at Grace Mary M.B. Church, 3901 N. 37th Street, Pastor Thomas Reed with, Rev. Antonio Hawkins of Exciting Faith Alive at Mt. Silla Church, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Freddie Lee Edwards, Sr. was born on August 19, 1941 to the late Willie and Rosa Bell Edwards. Freddie enjoyed listening to music and once was the manager of the Soul Operator's Band. He was also the owner of Buffalo Drive In Market and sponsored various children's community teams. He retired from Hillsborough County as a school bus driver. He was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Edwards. He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Sarah M. Edwards; son, Freddie L. Edwards, Jr. (Tammy); daughter, Felicia Edwards David (Christopher, Sr.); long time companion, Freddie S. Maze; grandchildren, Freddie III, Angela, Fredrick Christopher, Jr., Deondre, Marquita, Tiya and Kwame; 2 great grandchildren, Brian Jr., and Emijah; brothers, Willie Jr., Roy and Larry Edwards and Lonnie Camel; sisters, Rosemary Buchanan and Delores Miller; devoted niece, Royale Edwards; special nephew, Garrett Barron of the U.S. Navy, Japan; devoted cousins, Rev. Pauline L. Cole and Pastor Donnell Wilson; and a host of other relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, August 19th, from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the Church at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. There will be no viewing after the eulogy.
