Gabriel Antonio
Thompkins Ii "Donk"
March 14, 1995 – September 13, 2025
Gabriel Thompkins II, affectionately known as "Donk", was born on March 14, 1995, to Gabriel Thompkins and LaTasha Hicks. Gabriel brought joy and laughter wherever he went. His vibrant spirit and warm heart made him a constant presence at family gatherings—no matter the time or place, if family was involved, you could count on Donk to be there. He had a special love for dogs, a deep passion for sports, and an unshakable bond with those he loved most. Known for his loyalty, humor, and big heart, Gabriel's presence was a gift to all who knew him. Whether cheering on his favorite team, spending time with his beloved pets, or simply showing up for his people, he lived with purpose and love.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Twanda Franklin and Valerie Y. Johnson-Thornton; and cousin, Samuel 'India' Clarke.
He leaves cherished memories to his son, Gabriel 'Nugget' Thompkins III; and bonus daughter, Keyonni Lewis; parents, LaTasha (Karey) and Gabriel I (Tifany); brothers, Zabriel, Terquie, Dasyah, Cayden and Lavardis Howard (Lala); sisters, Alexis; and bonus sister, Dajze; grandparents, Robert Hicks (Theresa) and Robert Thompkins (Darlene); great aunts, Thelma (Samuel) and Patricia; great uncle, Michael (Jessica); and great-grandmother, Mollie Lue Hicks; aunts, Hollis (Brian), LaKischa (Jabari, Sr.), Santella (Rambo) and Whitney (Lonnie); bonus aunts, Tammy (Maurice) and Peggy Berger; uncles, Gary, Anthony (Lola), Harold, Jr., Andrew, and James; niece, Arraya; and bonus nieces, Zori, Zalaiyah and Zyomi; bonus nephew, Zyon; cousins, Shannon, Jr., Destiny, Ja'Niya, Ronde', Jabari, Jr., Dynasti, Jarron, Jakela, De'Shawna, Harold III, Maya, Anthony, Jr., Azariah, Brittany (Nikki) and Joseph (Jojo); bonus cousins, Theartis, Meisha, Jabari, Rhys, Brian and Christina Snead; special friends, Jamie Seay (Twin), Daren Riley (Boofy) and Carl Brown (Kirk). The entire Grant Park community, a host of other family and friends too numerous to name. It would cause enormous lament to Donk's heart to miss naming any person. However, space is inadequate to name every person whose life he touched. Therefore, everyone who has alphabets from A to Z in their name is now acknowledged here.
