Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Gelinda J. Dawson of Riverview, Florida who passed away, Thursday, September 29, 2010, will be held Saturday, October 9th, 11:00 a.m., Cathedral of Faith Church, Inc., 6302 N. 30th Street, Bishop J.H. Howell, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Gelinda was born August 28, 1956 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late George White and Leona White. She was a member of Cathedral of Faith Church, Inc. Gelinda loved to travel and was devoted to her family and faith. Gelinda was an inspiration and helper to many, and will be missed immensely. Her love was boundless and unselfish. Gelinda was preceded in death by her father, George White, grandparents, Edward Lee and Julia Thompson and uncle, Lee Edward Thompson. She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted and loving husband, Melvin E. Dawson, Riverview; children, Quaver L. White, Jarvis E. Dawson and Trevor A. Dawson all of Riverview; grandchildren, Brejan of Houston, Tyler of New Orleans, Brittany of Dallas, Anne Marie, Gabriana and Elijah of Riverview and Christoff of Dallas; her loving mother, Leona White of Apollo Beach; brother, Dwayne White of Apollo Beach; sister, Brenda Thompson of Brandon; nieces, Zatoya Thompson of Brandon and Zenise McDuffie of Houston; nephew, Dwayne White, Jr. of Apollo Beach; cousins, Wanda Thompson of Baton Rouge, LA and Joseph and Pam White of Davenport; special friends, Heather Minor and Jimmie Rodriguez of Tampa, Vonda Thomas of Dothan, AL, and Lillie Jefferson and Majella Balderamos of New Orleans, LA; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at Cathedral of Faith Inc. Friday, October 8th, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at 10:45 a.m. at the church on Saturday.
