A Homegoing Graveside Celebration for Mrs. Genevieve Triplett, 96 who passed away peacefully with her loving family around her on Thursday, August 13, 2020, will be held on Friday, August 21st, 11:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Ave., Tampa, Florida, Rev. Gregory Gay, pastor of Mt. Olive AME Church, officiating with her brother-in-law, Mr. Preston Triplett, eulogist.
Genevieve Triplett was born September 5, 1923 in Binghamton, New York to the late Jim Donaldson and Fronia (Davis) Donaldson. She attended Highland M.B. Church, New Fellowship B.C., Life Springs and Mt. Olive AME Church. She enjoyed cooking, going to church, telling jokes and riddles and saying, her 'ABC's' backwards.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James W. Triplett; children, Betty Jean Henderson and Rhoney Triplett, Sr.; sisters, Emily Reddick, Minnie Donaldson West and Fronia Williams; daughter-in-law, Doristine Bowen Triplett; brothers-in-law, Fred, Willis, Roosevelt Triplett and Noah Taylor; sisters-in-law, Tessie Miller, Mary Jackson and Vivian Triplett.
She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories her grandchildren, Rhoney Triplett, Jr. (Belinda), Rhonda Triplett-Coleman (William), Anthony Henderson, Lacetia Ponder and Rosette Dupree (Johnnie); great grandchildren, Rhoney Triplett III (Stephanie), Rhyan, and Rhaven Triplett, Darvon and Kevin Tolliver; Destiny, Demetrius and Anthony Henderson, Jr.; great great grandchildren, Moses and Monesha Carter, Justin, and Ciera Sims, Traeonie Dupree and John and Michael Triplett; sisters, Margie Randolph, Josephine Donaldson, Lucille Griggs and Mary Donaldson Carr; daughter-in-law, Betty Lewis; brother-in-law, Preston Triplett (Lillian) and sisters-in-law, Gloria Triplett and Shirley Mae Taylor; a host of nieces, nephews, Hargrove, Martin, Paris, Cook and Gundy families, Lois Watson and family, Rhonda Green and Karen Oruwairy; a host of church family at Life Springs Baptist Church, Highland M.B. Church and Mt. Olive AME Church; and her friends at Intercruises Port and Shoreside Services. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
The visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service at the graveside. The family and friends will meet at the graveside on Friday for the service.
