A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. George Clements, Jr. of Mobile, Alabama who passed away on October 4, 2021, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 16th, at Aikens Funeral Home 2708 E. Martin Luther King Blvd., Dr. Laura Ann Hargrove, officiating. The interment will be held at Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile, Alabama.
George was born October 16, 1946, to George and Margaret Clements. He moved to Tampa, Florida January 2020 to live with his daughter Sarah Clements, who was also his full-time caregiver for three years. He worked as a Longshoreman at the ILA 1410 Hall for more than 22 years in Mobile, Alabama. He served as an Usher at Greater Morning Star Baptist Church. George became a TikTok sensation in May 2020, with over 200K followers where he was known as Mr. Pops. He also enjoyed dancing, traveling and grilling. Loved and adored by many; his infectious laugh and smile will truly be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Tena Ali, Lula Mae Clemons; brother, Samuel Clemons; grandchildren, London Clements and Christian Clements. He leaves to cherish his memory to his loving and devoted daughter, Sarah Clements, Tampa Florida; devoted son-law, Raymond Simons, Hampton, VA; daughters, Keeshia Clements, Maryland; Yolanda Clements, of Mobile, Alabama; Shandrickal Clements, of Mobile, Alabama; grandchildren, Jessica Clements, Joshua Clements, Kamieah Longshaw and Khy Clements; great-grandchildren, Malajah Clements, Malachi Clements, Lamon Clements, London Clements, Aiden Clements; sister, Margaret Wright (Harold), of Atlanta, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and friends. special thanks to, Mrs. Williams the Admin. Assistant at ILA 1410 Hall and all of his TikTok family.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home Friday, October 15th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service. We are following the CDC guidelines.
