Homegoing services for Mrs. Georgia M. Coles of Tampa who passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014, will be held on Saturday, December 13th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Adolphus Gilbert, Sr., officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Georgia was born April 15, 1946 in Tampa, Florida. She was a graduate of Blake High School, class of 1964. Georgia was loved, admired and respected by all who knew her. Her infinite wisdom lives on in our hearts. We will truly miss her mortality as we embrace her immortality. Georgia enjoyed taking care of others first, cooking, playing candy crush, dancing, and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Green, Sr. and Northern Davis, brothers, Edward Green, Velly, John Wesley and Thomas Stanley and sister, Evelyn Green. She leaves to cherish her precious and fond memories her caring, loving and devoted husband, Vernis Johnson, Sr.; daughters, Tana Coles-Curman (Taurus), Pertrina M. Coles-Munoz (Vicente); step-daugthers, Vernice Harris, Valerie Alexander (Darryl), Lesley Hamilton (Doug); son, Vernis Johnson, Jr. (Kera); grandchildren, Antwan and Alex Coles, Ashanna, JonJovhani Munoz (Ceidra), Jaida, Jaydon and Jovan Johnson, Taurus, Jr. and Tavaris Curmon; great grandchildren, James Jolly IV, Alexia, Zariah, and Taliz Coles, Paris Mosely and JonJovhani Munoz, Jr.; brothers, Jerome Green and Robert Louis Stanley; sisters, Dorothy Copeland, Ida Mae Green and Dolores Pressley; uncle, Robert Troupe, Sr.; and a host of surviving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends, Coretha and family, god-daughter, Yolanda and family, Rose and family, Josette and family, Guerdy and family and Faye and family. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, December 12th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the service.
