Obituary

A homegoing celebration for Mr. Giles Nottingham of Tampa, FL who passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd. Tampa, FL 33610, Rev. L.B. Jones, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Giles Nottingham passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the home of his daughter Vivian surrounded by family in comfort and love as he wished. Giles was born February 6, 1942 in Cape Charles, VA to Carlton and Ethel (Collins) Nottingham. He relocated to Florida in the early 1970s where he spent most of his career as a loader for Robbins Lumber until retirement. Giles' passion for life and family was and will continue to be a true blessing and encouragement to everyone who knew him. Giles was preceded in death by his wives Sarah Nottingham (1964 - 1992) and Doris Hayes Nottingham (1993 - 2005), his father and mother Carl and Ethel (Collins) Nottingham, and brothers, Charles Nottingham, Vernon Nottingham, and Carl Nottingham. Giles leaves to mourn three daughters, Evelyn Watts of Jamaica, NY; Vivian Nottingham (Darrell) of Tampa, FL, and Vanita Nottingham (Christina) of Bradenton, FL; two brothers, Roy Nottingham and Randy Nottingham, both of Cape Charles, VA; five sisters, Jannie Harvey of Cape Charles, VA, Dorothy Triplett (Edward) of Lehigh Acres, FL, Betty Johnson of Cape Charles, VA, Joann Adkins (Robert) of Cape Charles VA and Laverne Manley of Cape Charles, VA; fourteen grandchildren, Jasmine Watts, Teyrell Watts, Ebony Watts, Terrance Watts, Rashawn Watts, Shanell Watts Medina (Julio), Keyana Nottingham, Corbin Nottingham (Shannon), Ray Watts, Jr., Micaela Nottingham (David), Ravin Nottingham, Wynika Watts, Cezarrio Nottingham, Sr. (Malquisha), and Jarbob Watts; twenty-two great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Giles also leaves sister-in-law and special friend, Lessie Baymon, a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He was deeply loved and will truly be missed. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Saturday, March 4th 1 hour prior to the service.
