A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Gloria Elizabeth Ferguson of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016 will be held on Saturday, June 25th, 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N 29th Street, Rev. Dr. S. Evan Burrows pastor, officiating. The interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Gloria was a member of First Baptist Church of College Hill and served on the Womens Planning Council, Jolly Seniors ministry and Eagle Huggins ministry. She enjoyed shopping, working at the church and spending time with friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Josephine Ashwood and grandson, Edward I. Ferguson; She leaves to cherish her memories with her ex-husband and great friend, Everett Ferguson; son, Simon E. Ferguson (Kathy); grandchildren, Edward J. Ferguson and Everett I. Ferguson; great grandchild; Everett I Ferguson, Jr.; brother, Richard H. Ashwood (Evelyn); sisters, Daisie M. Ashwood-Ames (Absalom), Maple Grove, MN; aunts, Dorothy Ashwood, Willie Mae Ashwood, Juanita Ashwood and Ellen Ashwood; uncles, Richard Ashwood, Oscar Nelson, Reggie Ashwood, Joe Nelson, Fred Ashwood and Leroy Ashwood; nieces, Felicia Ashwood, Priscillia Ashwood (Todd), Marsena Ames, Rachel Ames and Kezia Ames; nephews, Richard Israel Ashwood, Jessie I. Ames and Absalom D. The visitation will be held at Aikens funeral home on Friday, June 24th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
