Homegoing Services for Mrs. Gloria Ruby Mitchell, who passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2011, will be held Saturday, February 12th, 11:00 a.m., at Greater Mt. Carmel A.M.E. Church, 4209 N. 34th Street, with Rev. Charles Cloy, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Mitchell was born April 5, 1950 in Tampa, Florida. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Greater Mt. Carmel A.M.E. Church. She retired from Honeywell. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Mitchell, Sr., parents, Benjamin Franklin Bryant, Sr., and Curtis Lee Bryant; sister, Lillian Jean Evans,sister-in-law, Dorothy Miller and mother-in-law, Angeline Patterson. She leaves to cherish her memories, children; David Mitchell, Jr., and wife, Melody of Nashville, TN and Kimberly L. Mitchell; grandchildren, Jasmine Johnson, Antonio Tillman-Mitchell, Raven Mitchell, David Favor, Roosevelt Mitchell, Lexus Mitchell and Ashantia Mitchell; great- grandchild, Cameron Tillman; brother, Benjamin F. Bryant, Jr.; sisters, Joyce A. Sykes and husband; Leroy; sister-in-law, Antoinette Patterson; aunt, Christine Richardson; nieces, Lawanda Miller, Twanda Evans, Maria Miller, Tangela Andrews and husband, Charlie,Belinda Monzon and husband, Francisco and Victoria Moore; nephews, Reginald Bryant, Larry Miller, Antonio Miller, Paul Patterson, Jason Sykes and wife, Dawn, Antonio Jelks, Reginald Jelks and wife, Brittany and Devonte Patterson; great nieces, Octavia Coleman, Kaneesha Vann and Kiri Holmes; great nephews, Roymello Vann and Laya Sykes; devoted cousin, Susan Grubs; special friend, Gloria George; a host of other relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. on Friday. Family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday at 10:45 a.m. for the service.
