A Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Gloria Pouncy Cohen Robinson, after a brief battle of cancer, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020, services will be held on, Monday November 30, 2020, 12:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Tampa, Florida, Rev. David Jones, eulogist.
Gloria was born in Tampa on September 13, 1941, to the late Willie Pouncy and Bernice Peck Pouncy. She was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County before relocating to Miami, New York and Toms River, N.J. Upon returning to Tampa, Gloria had various job opportunities as a dispatcher for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, secretary for the legal firm of Kaydell Wright, Esq., and ending her career as a food service worker with 15+ years in the HCPS system. Gloria Gave her life to Christ at an early age at New First Union Baptist Church and later rededicated her life again at St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist church, under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Bartholomew Banks. Always willing to lend a helping hand in her community and others, Gloria had been a dedicated member of the Bay City Temple of Elks #158 and the George E. Edgecomb Antler Guard Unit for over 20 years.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Courtney Pouncy; husbands, Horace Neal and Edward Robinson, respectively; son-in-law; Calvin Youngblood; and other loved ones.
She leaves broken hearts but fond memories with her daughter, Denise Pouncy Youngblood; stepdaughter; Tedranna Broadnax (Elijah); sons, Michael Neal (Belinda), Atlanta, GA, Stephen Tyrone Epps, Angleton, TX; brother, Willie J. Pouncy (Rose), Hudson, WI; grandchildren, Bianca Phillips (Markisha) and Nandi McDuffie (Tevin), Jazmion Anderson; all of Tampa; nieces, Antoinette Davis and Shelia Peck; great-niece; Louvenia 'Nicki' Davis; nephews, Alphonso Sanderson (Gloria), Dwayne Pouncy (Connie), Joseph Rodriguez (Angie), Orlando, FL, Naaman Peck, Jr., John Reid and Pernell Reid; extended family/friends include but does not limit to, Lafeka Green and Jodi Charlton, Cynthia Cummings and Tyre, Isaiah and Aubrey, Gustavo Wright, Mattie Brown, Gloria Pendleton, Verna Warren, Anissa, and Shayla; longtime neighbors; Mike and Shannon and Ms. Pat; last but never forgotten are best friends, Susan Bell, Mary 'Lynn' Devine, and Martha Maner. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Monday, November 30th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. We are following the CDC guidelines. The services will be live-streamed at www.aikensfuneralhome.com website.
