Obituary

Mrs. Gloria Jean Sanders was born to the late J.B. and Lucille Austin on April 9, 1945, in Quincy, Florida. She received her education in the public school system of Gadsen County. Gloria was employed by Honeywell/Group Technologies, as a group leader, where she retired after 20-plus years of service.

She was preceded in death by her late husband of 25 years., Johnny Lewis Sanders Sr.; her loving parents, Lucille Astin (J.B.) Robert L. Owens (Sweetie Lee). Sisters, Edna Berkins, and Patrica Weaver; brothers, Robert, J.D. and Willie Fred Austin.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: four children, Marian Robinson (James), Jacqueline Sanders, and Donna Sanders-Henry, all of Tampa, and Johnny Lewis Sanders Jr. (Charlene) of Minnesota, stepdaughter, Linda Barnett (Junior) of Somerset, NJ. sisters; Dorthy Mae Faison, of Tampa, Vicki Thomas, of Gretna, and Carolyn Austin Harden of Quincy. brothers, Larry, Gereld, Jimmie, Tony Austin, of Quincy, Fl. grandchildren; Kelneka Sanders, Gloria Latasha Sanders-Hill (Abe), Gloria N. Johnson, Ty'Onna Sanders, Sierra Robinson, LeRon Lewis Sanders (Danielle), Ty'Nard Stokes, 17 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special grandson; Reggie Watson; and her devoted friend of 40 plus years, Thelma Stafford.
