Gloria Marie Shaw was born in Tampa, FL, to the late Lemuel and Catherine Pilcher on February 8, 1953. Those who knew her called her “Glo” for short. The youngest of 7 children, she attended and graduated from Blake High School, class of 1970. After a short stint at Florida A & M University, she joined the United States Army, where she proudly served for 20 years, 15 active and 5 in the reserves. She then took on her second career is a clerk for the Hillsborough County Clerk of the Circuit Court. In which she worked there for 20 years retiring in 2016. Perhaps her favorite job was working part-time at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers games she worked there 20 years as well (which became more of a hobby than a job). Gloria was a lifetime member of Mt. Zion AME Church, she held several different positions over the years, her favorite was being a member of the choir. Gloria loved to sing. On July 28, 2026, The Most High God called Gloria home, for her work on this side was done.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Lemuel and Catherine Pilcher; husband, Mac Shaw; brother, Freddie Pilcher; sister, Toynita Pilcher; sister-in-law, Marina Pilcher; one granddaughter, Jazmin Brown; and nephew, Lemuel Pilcher II.
She is survived by her 3 sisters, Carol Pilcher, Cheryl Pilcher and Sharon Niblack; one brother, Ronnie Pilcher; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Pilcher; two sons, Christopher Pilcher (Ramona) and Ankwan Pilcher (Kahlilah); grandchildren, Brea Pilcher-King (AJ), Destiny Pilcher, Dj Green, Jalani Pilcher, London Pilcher and Christopher Pilcher, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Wayne Jacobs, Jr. and Aamaris King; nieces and nephews, Eugene Richardson, Kimberly Richardson Mills, Natasha Milner, Neril Griffith, Quenell Johnson and Nevin Griffith; and countless other family members and friends to mourn her passing.
