Obituary

Homegoing Celebration of Mrs. Gwendolyn Elaine Taylor of Tampa (formally of Armwood Ct./ Central Park Village) who passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015, will be held Wednesday, December 30th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Michael Hopkins, officiating. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Gwendolyn was born in Charleston, SC and had been a resident of Tampa, Florida for over 40 years. She was affectionately known as "Boyboy". Gwen was a long time resident of Ybor City Rehabilitation, where she was well cared for and loved. She was a member of the Ybor City Church where she was a faithful choir member. Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Wallace Taylor. Gwendolyn leaves behind: stepdaughter, Ms. Linda Ellis Taylor; a very devoted sister-in- law, Mrs. Victoria (Willie) White; niece, Mrs. Darlene (Michael) Hopkins; great nieces, Ms. Mahogany James and Mrs. Michelle Walker (Lavon); great nephews, Mr. Tameel Scott and Mr. Jerell Rivers; great great nephews, Tayven, Demitrius and Jacob; great great nieces, Briya and Amarie; special cousins, the Brown family; and other sorrowing family and friends. Special Thanks to Ybor City Rehabilitation staff and South Tampa Hospice for your care of our loved one. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 29th, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Wednesday for the service.
